I very definitely agree with JimmyOlzen. I couldn't have said it better myself. Sure, we all make mistakes, but that guy made CHOICES and deliberately, irresponsibly, the WRONG choices. We all know better than to drink alcohol while driving, and to NOT be under the influence of any recreational, mind-altering drug when behind the wheel. It's not like the driver didn't know better. What a horrible example he sets for any kids. Jimmy, it seems you posted a couple of things before your last, most sensible post, and I'm wondering why. This guy plainly disobeyed several laws and could have killed himself or someone else. Unless, Jimmy, I'm misunderstanding you. I'm all for forgiveness and giving second chances, but let's not forget how Mothers Against Drunk Drivers fight against this sort of thing.

we all make mistakes abosolutely correct, no one is perfect, we may all drive a little drunk or high at one time or another , but we have not all put ourselves in the position to mentor and teach children , we have not all set ourselves out to be role models by choice, some people should just have higher standards, I have one left to hit kindergarten there and he wont teach my son, and that was nothing to do with his arrest, I knew that the first year he took over the K at merriam.

I strongly disagree with you. We do NOT all drive while a "little high" at times. We do NOT all smoke weed. I'm not saying crucify the guy, but how would you feel if he'd killed someone?? Your attitude almost gives permission for people to drive while under the influence. What if YOUR kid had been harmed? Would you be so forgiving then? Just look at the terribly high numbers of drunk driving accidents where innocent people have been killed. I hope you don't share this irresponsible and lax attitude with your kids. They should be taught responsibility, but you can't teach something you don't know yourself and it sounds like you sorely lack education in that area.
