Knox County High School senior Katie Ausmus lets fly a three pointer during the girls scrimmage at Knox County’s Annual “Sport Drink Scrimmage”  on Friday evening, Nov. 20 at Edina, MO. Both the boys and girls squads scrimmaged, followed by a game between a mixed squad of boys and girls teams seniors vs. faculty and alums. Despite multiple dunks by former Knox standout Garrett Nunan, the current varsity players won 21-14 in a game that ended with a 70 foot three quarter lenghth shot by KCHS senior guard Tristan Lonberger.

Fire

After firefighters arrive at the scene, Chad Wilhoit continues to battle a trailer home fire with a garden hose Friday afternoon, November 20, 2009 at Hultz’s Expressway Mobile Home Park. Wilhoit, who lives next door to the structure grabbed a garden hose, and fought the fire by himself until help arrived. ” This was an interesting way to wake up from a nap,” he said.

Sue Mitchell wipes the excess slobber from her dog Corky’s mouth.  She and her Newfoundland-Lanseer are waiting for their next challenge during a Good Citizen Test conducted by the Quincy Kennel Club Tuesday night, November 17, 2009 at K&L Arena.  The test is designed to measure obedience skills, which can earn the dog the American Kennel Club’s designation of Canine Good Citizen.  Many insurance companies require successful completion of the test before homeowners insurance can be obtained.
